Meet the Artist
'Amber Nicole' Wade is a US Virgin Islands artist, who has shared her artwork across the US and Caribbean. Native born in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands, Amber left her home after unfortunate circumstances from Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Though it meant leaving behind family friends and the community she knew, Amber relocated to Saint Robert, Missouri just outside of the Fort Leonard Wood Military Installation. While in Missouri, she resumed her business, Island Breeze Face & Body Art, as well as the paintings that she is now known for.
Amber has always been artistically skilled since a little girl and is a self taught artist. She became more enthusiastic about painting throughout the pandemic, sharpening her skills and sharing her journey via Social Media. Amber is now known for her artistic style and work that is often described as bold and vibrant, heavily influenced by the beauty of the Caribbean and Afrocentric culture. Though most of her artwork is acrylic and mixed media, Amber's pieces are known for their ability to captivate observers; to include the judges of the 2022 Tri-County Fair where her art (Majestic Reign) played 1st, winning the competition.
Amber is a believer that art or any form of creative expression is not just important to the artist or creative, but is and has always been a necessity to the world. She believes that it captures the indescribable beauty, emotion, strength, fragility and resilience of life and shares the story through time. All this from the heart of the artist to the heart of humanity.
"It is not possible to spell heart without art, which is why I put mine in it"
